According to the actor, the iconic line was never in the original script of the movie he filmed in Umuahia with Bishop Okon and the late Dede One Day.
Francis explained that he created the line himself during the scene while acting.
🗣️ In his words:
“There was nothing like ‘Gerara Here’ in the script. I crafted it myself. Even ‘Hold up, Ngga’ and ‘You don’t know nothing’ were not in the script.”
He said the movie scene was about someone returning from South Africa, so he intentionally used broken English instead of pidgin to make the character sound like someone who had been abroad.
Originally, the script wanted them to say “Comot here”, but Francis changed it to “Gerara here.”
When the other character still didn’t understand, he added the Igbo translation:
👉 “Si ebe a puo.” (meaning Get out from here).
Today, the improvised line has become one of Nollywood’s most famous internet memes, used across Africa and beyond.
