“Whosoever alleges must prove.” Mercy Johnson draws the line

Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson Okojie has issued a strong and emotional statement, declaring that 2026 will no longer be business as usual when it comes to false allegations, online harassment, and attacks against her family.

The actress made it clear that she has decided to put a stop to persistent lies, propaganda, and attempts to tear down her 15-year marriage, stressing that she owes no one validation and knows who she is.

Mercy Johnson revealed that the online attacks have gone beyond her, affecting her children, who have reportedly been bullied in school because of false narratives spread online. According to her, parents have even warned their children to avoid her kids based on lies — a situation she described as completely unacceptable.

She addressed the role of faceless bloggers, claiming that some are paid to publish damaging stories, sometimes by people who simply want to pull others down. While she said she has chosen peace in the past out of respect for her husband and loved ones, she emphasized that this does not mean guilt.

“From now on, anyone who alleges must prove. If you use your face and your handle to make allegations, you will prove them.”

Mercy Johnson stressed that she will no longer tolerate lies being spread for clicks, warning that legal steps will be taken against anyone who uses her name or her husband’s name falsely.

She reaffirmed that her focus remains her marriage, her children, and her work, adding that she has always stayed in her lane and does not interfere in anyone’s business.

The actress ended by thanking those who reached out with love and concern, while firmly telling bloggers and detractors to keep her name out of their mouths.

Many fans have applauded her stance, describing it as long overdue, and encouraging her to protect her family and her peace.
