“If Nothing Is Done, I’ll Join Boko Haram And Train Them” — Retired Policeman Cries Out Over unpaid Pension

A retired Nigerian police officer has raised alarm after threatening to join Boko Haram due to unresolved pension issues, reflecting growing frustration among ex-security personnel.

The former officer, whose statement has gone viral, warned that continued neglect could push him to take drastic steps.

“If nothing is done about this, I’ll go to the other side and I’ll join Boko Haram, I’ll be helping them and training them,” he said.

He described his pension experience as “sl@very,” stressing how severe his situation has become.

His remarks highlight the deep dissatisfaction among many retired officers who have long complained about delayed payments, poor benefits, and lack of support after years of service.
