The president of Gabon, Ali Bongo, has come under criticism after he greeted his government officials and delegates under the rain.
This was revealed in a video where the 64-year-old leader was moving slowly while under an umbrella, greeting his officials who lined up nodding their heads gently under the rain as the president spoke to them, one after the other.
This criticized event was done moments before the Gabon president left for France.
Several Africans struggled to understand why the president had to keep people (ordinary civilians) standing under the rain because they had to see him.
“They are under the rain while he isn’t. African mentality”, John Uche wrote.
