The Ogun State Police Command has detained a Celestial Church pastor, Omogbolahan Israel Idowu, over allegations that he s+x¥ally abused his 16-year-old stepdaughter.
According to SaharaReporters, the arrest followed a petition by the Lagos State branch of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), which accused the pastor of abusing the girl from age 14 and threatening to k+ll her if she reported the alleged abuse.
In a petition dated October 26, 2026, addressed to the Shimawa Police Division, CDHR alleged that the abuse began after the teenager’s mother, Bukola Rachel Omogbolahan, married Idowu and moved with her children into his residence in the Ologbo Ark area of Shimawa.
The organisation claimed that the alleged abuse continued after the girl turned 16, leaving her and her elder brother fearful for their safety.
