Three Nigerian-British sisters who were found d+ad after entering the sea off Brighton beach took their own lives, a coroner has ruled.

At an inquest in Brighton, senior coroner Penelope Schofield concluded that Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, had entered the water with the intention of ending their lives.

The coroner said the sisters faced adverse sea conditions and could not swim. Postmortem toxicology tests for all three were negative for drugs and alcohol.

The sisters, who lived together in Greenford, London, had travelled to Birmingham the day before their d+aths. A taxi dropped them near their mother’s former address. Their mother, Janice Adetoro, d+ed after drowning in Brookvale Lake, Erdington, Birmingham, in 2010.”
