Popular relationship counselor and cleric, Bisi Adewale, has stirred controversy after declaring that a husband’s primary responsibility in marriage is neither providing for his family nor loving his wife.
Speaking during a sermon, the pastor said many men misunderstand their role in marriage by placing financial provision and affection above their spiritual responsibilities.
According to him, the first duty of a married man is to serve as the priest of his family, maintaining a strong relationship with God and leading his household spiritually.
“The first duty of a man in marriage is not to provide. The first duty of a man in marriage is not to love his wife. The first duty of a man in marriage is to be a priest of the family,” he said.
