The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man, Ibrahim Augustine, for allegedly st@bbing his 21-year-old friend, Haggai Markus, to de@th following a disagreement over roasted meat in Mubi North Local Government Area of the state.
The incident reportedly occurred around 8pm on November 4, 2026, at Mararaban Vimtim, after a misunderstanding over roasted meat taken from a butcher’s table.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspect allegedly picked up a knife during the disagreement and st@bbed Markus in the chest.
The victim’s father, Markus Gabo, reportedly alerted the police around 8:45pm. Police operatives attached to the Mubi North Division subsequently visited the scene and found the victim lying lifeless in a pool of bl%%d.
The police recovered a sharp knife believed to have been used in the att@ck, while the suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
