Four Killed as Terrorists Attack Kano Community, Rustle Cattle

Troops of Sector 1, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), have responded to a terrorist attack on Yan Kamaye Village in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State, where four residents were reportedly killed.

Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on May 11, prompting troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Yanchibi to swiftly mobilise to the affected community following a distress call.

According to the sources, the terrorists attacked the village, killing four locals before fleeing the area.

“On arrival at the scene, troops discovered that four residents had been killed during the attack.

“The terrorists also rustled an unconfirmed number of cattle before escaping,” the source said.

The sources added that troops had commenced efforts to track the fleeing assailants and recover the stolen livestock.

The attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents involving cattle rustling and attacks on rural communities in parts of the North-West and adjoining states.

Security agencies have continued intensified operations aimed at dismantling terrorist and bandit networks operating across the region.
