A Nigerian TikTok user has shared a video capturing her children’s excitement after she finally allowed them to trek on the road for the first time.
According to the mother, her children had repeatedly asked her to let them walk whenever they went out instead of driving. She recalled that on one occasion, they even wished her car would break down so they could have the opportunity to trek.
She eventually granted their request and took them on the experience.
Reflecting on her own childhood, she recalled how she also wished she could join other children she saw walking along the road. She sometimes pretended to trek by arranging household items on a toy train and moving them around the compound.
She noted that the experience reminded her that children do not always need expensive outings to create beautiful childhood memories.
