A 48-year-old woman and her 20-year-old daughter have d+ed following a suspected grizzly bear attack in British Columbia, Canada.
The victims, identified as Jennifer Balcarras and Selah Reed, were reported missing on November 1 after failing to return from what was meant to be a short afternoon hike in Bella Coola.
Their remains were discovered in a trail area during a search involving conservation officers and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Balcarras was found on Monday, while her daughter was discovered on Tuesday.
The British Columbia Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) said evidence at the scene suggested an animal may have been involved. Officers are currently working to locate the bear or bears suspected of being responsible.
