An Akwa Ibom resident, identified as Jay Voice, has raised alarm after a woman allegedly abandoned her child at his boss’ residence on Monday evening, November 2, 2026, and fled.
According to him, the woman reportedly sneaked into the compound, dropped the child alongside a bag containing children’s items, and disappeared.
Jay Voice appealed to members of the public who may recognise the child or know her family to provide useful information, offering a financial reward for anyone who can help locate the child’s mother or relatives.
Meanwhile, his boss, Emaeyak Umoh, shared a video of the child, alleging that the mother had earlier approached his children’s facility but was turned away because it lacked the specialised resources required to care for a child with suspected autism.
Umoh’s account suggests that the mother may have been seeking a facility that could cater to the child’s needs before the alleged abandonment.
