Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a woman identified as Aisha Isah with 266 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition during a patrol along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the woman was arrested at a toll gate along the highway.

The agency, however, did not disclose where Isah was travelling from, her intended destination or the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the ammunition.

It also did not state whether she had been charged or handed over to another security agency for further investigation.

The arrest was among several operations carried out by NDLEA operatives across the country, resulting in the seizure of illicit drugs and the arrest of suspected traffickers.
