An Oklahoma woman, Cherie Walker, has been sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences for failing to protect her 11-year-old daughter from s+xual abuse by her stepfather and allowing the child to give birth at home without medical assistance.
Walker, 34, was sentenced by a Muskogee County judge on Friday, October 30, according to PEOPLE and local media reports.
She was charged with one count of child s+xual ab¥se and six counts of child neglect in August 2025 after her daughter gave birth inside the family home on August 16, 2025, without prenatal care or medical assistance.
Authorities were alerted after the child was taken to a hospital following the delivery.
Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson said Walker and her husband, Dustin Walker, claimed they did not know the girl was pregnant.
“This child is traumatized,” Hutson told KOTV.
