A Yobe State High Court in Damaturu has sentenced 45-year-old Abubakar Musa, popularly known as Daddy, to de@th by hanging for k+lling his wife, Ammi Adamu Mamman.
Musa was arrested on January 4, 2024, following his wife’s de@th at New Bra-Bra Estate, Damaturu, and was charged with culpable homicide.
The then state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, said the incident occurred around 4:48 a.m. after the ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call.
According to Abdulkarim, the couple were on the same bed when Mamman was allegedly att@cked with a sharp object on her neck, causing severe bleeding that led to her de@th.
He said Musa was arrested for questioning, while the homicide unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department launched an investigation.
