A man identified as Sunday has been apprehended after allegedly breaking into a house in Auchi, Edo State, and living there for four days while the owner was away.
The suspect reportedly broke a back window to gain access to the property, where he had been cooking, bathing and using the facilities.
In a viral video showing his confrontation with the landlord, the suspect was asked how long he had been staying in the house. He replied, “I’ve stayed for like four days.”
The shocked landlord asked him, “Four days? You dey cook, dey baff, dey shit. Why you come break this back window?”
The man admitted to breaking the window, explaining that he wanted an escape route in case someone showed up.
“It is so that in case anybody come, I will follow through that side,” he said.
The suspect was also accused of cooking the tenant’s beans and rice, which had reportedly been in the house since last Friday.
