The Obi-Datti campaign media wing sent a strong message to the former speaker of the house of representative, Yakubu Dogara, who led the Northern Leaders Consultative Forum, to back the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the upcoming general elections.
The Labour party media wing accused the former speaker of being on the wrong side of history, by jumping ship from supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to endorsing Atiku Abubakar of the PDP.
They accused him of failing Nigerians on two lines: justice/equity, and capacity/competence.
“The former Speaker knows as a fact that his choice is against the tide, as the country stands on two prongs today ahead of 2023; justice and equity on one hand and capacity and competence on the other and not on primordial interest of political party lines”, Obi-Datti media team said.
“We in the Obi-Datti Media see Hon Dogara’s unpopular stand as a clear measure of double standard and a grave error in seeing same faith ticket in his party as wrong but jump to embrace another injustice of a party that refuses to follow its own constitution and respect for political fairness and accommodation”, the statement continued.
The APC is being faulted for fielding two candidates from the same faith (Muslim/Muslim), and the PDP is fielding a Presidential candidate, who’s from the same ethnic group as the outgoing president of Nigeria.
However, some Nigerians are going out of their way to tolerate and rally support for the presidential ambitions of the APC and PDP candidates.
