Four women: Clare Ballantyne, Mairi Hilton, Natalie Corbett, and Lucy Bruzzone secured jobs at Port Lockroy, on Goudier Island; a location 9000 miles from the UK.
Four women have beaten 6000 people to nail a job in one of the most unusual places in the world.
The historic site posts a record 80,000 letters per year and houses a high number of penguins, which one of the women will be delegated to count.
Natalie Corbett, a 31-year-old newlywed will manage the gift shop on the island, and Mairi Hilton will take the wonderful task of counting the penguins.
Clare Ballantyne, a 23-year-old Oxford graduate will be the postmaster, sorting 80,000 letters to be mailed to over 100 countries worldwide.
Lucy Bruzzone, an expeditionist and scientist, will be in charge of managing the team and coordinating all ship visits to the island.
The enthusiasm is high among the four women, who cut through and proved to be the most competent among 6000 people, for the roles advertised by UK Antarctic Heritage Trust (UKAHT) charity.
