“Where are the INEC officers?”- Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala boils

Serving Director General of the World Bank and Nigeria’s former Minister of finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has taken to her Twitter handle to vent after electoral officers fail to appear at her polling unit since morning.

“Waiting to vote at my polling station in Umuda Isingwu village Umuahia, Abia state. I have been waiting one hour. Many villagers have been here since 7 am. It is 11.23 am now”, NOI wrote on Twitter.

“Where are the INEC officers??”, The former minister added.

This situation is the same in several polling units across the country, with more of them coming in the southeastern part of the country.

INEC officers fail to show up, leaving voters frustrated and tired after hours of voting.

Under Mrs Okonjo-Iweala’s Twitter post, it became a ground for lamentations about the lack of INEC officers in the supposed stronghold of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
