An ex-soldier of the Nigerian army has confessed how he and his fellow soldiers had to resort to petty stealing to be able to complement their meager salary.
According to him, they earn N8,500 per month, and they had to steal pumpkin leaves from people’s farms.
The ex-soldier, Emeka made this known on his Twitter handle on Friday afternoon.
“I joined the army in 2002, my basic salary was 8500. I remember when were deployed to Calabar, we had to steal pumpkin leaves from people’s farm to survive”, Emeka wrote.
