A man was recently arrested and paraded by the Katsina State police command for kidnapping, the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) has said it has nothing to do with kidnapping contrary to the claim by Katsina Police Command of arresting a member of its arm militia Eastern Security Network(ESN) in Katsina.
Reacting to this, IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, said claims by the Katsina State Police Command that it arrested an ESN member in the state was laughable.
A 19-year-old David Eric Uchenna, who also goes by the name Ibrahim Muhammed was arrested by the Katsina State Police Command.
He was picked up at Kofar Sauri Quarters in Katsina metropolis, following a tip-off from some of his associates.
In a statement on Thursday by the IPOB Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the organisation said it has never engaged in the business of kidnapping, adding that such claim was outside their mandate.
He added that ESN operatives’ mandate is to protect land and forests as well as Biafran farmers from terror herdsmen invasion and will never be involved in the kidnapping.
