In a video posted by an internet user, Pauline, the issue of internet scams done by Nigerians targeting Americans was discussed.
Three Nigerians including one scammer were interviewed about this, and they said their view of what caused this situation.
A lady spoke about how she thinks internet scam have become a culture in Nigeria. Much to the amusement of viewers, so many of whom are Americans.
The second guy to be interviewed said the cause of the increase in the rate of internet scammers is unemployment.
“If you have done good, and you don’t gain, maybe you will do bad”, he said.
The last guy to be interviewed was a former scammer, who allegedly scammed Americans through online romance setups.
The former scammer said he went into internet scams in a bid to make ends meet, as three of his elder siblings are unemployed.
To add to the confirmations, a 68-year-old American woman has confessed she was duped of more than $200,000.
Speaking on the modus operandi of the scammer, she said the scammer gave her much attention, and showed her care. At the end, she fell for his ploy.
