A Nigerian soldier is currently trending for a statement he made ahead of the upcoming 2023 general election which is kicking off on Saturday.
“If you trust the juju that your native doctor made for you. Just go and snatch ballot box”, the soldier said.
“It is not a threat. I am just telling you”, he added.
Nigerians have been braced for the eventuality of the 2023 elections being marred with violence, as the political conversations and tension are more fierce than they have been in recent years.
The military has been sent to all parts of Nigeria, as is usually the tradition.
But the show of force done by the ‘men in khaki’ ahead of the polls has doused the fears and tensions, especially in the southeastern part of Nigeria where a Finland-based lawyer, Simon Ekpa, is leading the line to prevent the elections from taking place in the southeast geopolitical zone.
