The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Nweze Umahi, on Sunday, 25th December 2022 called on all the Christians across the country to pray for free and fair elections in 2023.
According to reports, the Ebonyi State Governor made this call in his Christmas message to the residents of the State, while stating the need to pray for especially for a free and fair election in the coming year.
While commemorating the Christmas season as one that earmarked the birth of Christ, he emphasized that the election would be one that determines the fate of Nigeria is dependent on the election and it would take Christians to pray for God’s mercy and intervention in the election.
He further described Christmas as a time of spiritual reflection on the important functions of the Christian faith and a perfect time to reconcile with God and fellow human and receive salvation from God, and also a time to demonstrate the significance of the love of Jesus Christ “who was born to save the world from sin and sorrow”.
