Ssaalongo Nsikonenne Habib Ssezzigu, a resident of Bugereka village in Mukono district, made history over the weekend by marrying seven wives simultaneously in a carefully organized ceremony in his village.
Notably, two of the seven wives wedded to Habib, who is a traditional healer, are biological sisters.
Following the exchange of marital vows, Nsikonnene and his seven wives embarked on a grand procession, led by bodaboda cyclists, passing through the towns of Kalagi, Kasana, and Nakifuma before reaching their home at 6 pm.
The wedding celebration commenced with a concert, as the couples moved in a convoy, receiving applause from spectators who lined the roadsides to witness this unprecedented event.
Many onlookers expressed disbelief, with some remarking that this was their first time witnessing such a historic event, doubting they would ever see another man like Habib engage in a similar ceremony in their lifetimes.
The seven wives who participated in this groundbreaking event include Mariam, Madinah, Aisha, Zainabu, Fatuma, Rashida, and Musanyusa, who is Habib’s first wife. In a gesture of generosity, Habib gifted each of his wives a new car.
