Ujah Ujah, a legal counsel to Sani Danladi has stated that there is no active court order prohibiting his client from running for office or holding public office.
Sani Danladi is one of President Bola Tinubu’s nominees for the ministerial position.
Ujah was responding to online claims that Danladi had been denied the right to occupy political office for ten years by the supreme court in 2019 due to an alleged certificate fabrication.
Danladi, who has held a number of political positions, reportedly performed his duties “without any record of blemish whatsoever,” according to a statement released by Ujah on Saturday.
According to Ujah, the suspicions being spread about his client are “baseless rumours pushed by some unpopular politicians from Taraba state”.
“It is a wanton remark unwittingly made in the absence of any proof or any court judgment indicting senator Sani Abubakar Danladi in this regard”, Ujah said in a statement.
He went on to state that the Federal High Court in Taraba had on October 15, 2021 set aside its judgement after it was discovered that the court has no jurisdiction to entertain a case on the Danladi saga in the first place.
The PDP went on to appeal the case again, and it was dismissed on the 23rd of January 2023.
