The Nigeria National Under-20 team, the Flying Eagles in the return leg final qualifying rounds to Moscow 85 WYC against the Cub Lions of Cameroon at the Main bowl of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

The First leg had ended 3-0 in favour of Cameroon in Yaounde while Nigeria hammered the Cameroonians 5-1 in Lagos, with Monday Odiaka scoring a hattrick.

The games also served as the `quaterfinal of the Tessema Cup which Nigeria later won..

Nigeria qualified for the WYC and went on to win Africa’s first medal in the history of the FIFA Under-20 World Championship following a penalty shootout victory over host the USSR in the third place playoff.
