Former acting Boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,Mr Ibrahim Magu, has been given an award per-excellence after his suspension.
Magu who was suspended on account of being involved in a church scandal deal in which a purported N573m was wrongly reflected as credit entry into the church’s account by its reporting system.
The “award of excellence” was given based on the judgement delivered by Justin Yusuf Halilu of the Federal High Court on October 4.
While speaking NANS reported that Magu who was represented by his son, Mr. Mohammad-Saheed-Ibrahim-Magu in the award ceremony by Northern Female Students Association said that in turn of recent events happening, the truth is finally unfolding to Nigerians.
He was stated as saying;
“I am a victim of corruption fighting back, but I am happy that recent events are revealing the truth to Nigerians,’’ he said.
While speaking, the association comprising female students of universities in the northern parts of Nigeria, Aisha Nasir, explained that Magu was unanimously chosen for the award for his dedication to national service.
She said,
“The anti-corruption fight in Nigeria is a binding moral duty that requires seeing beyond political affiliations or preferences.
“Love him or hate him, Ibrahim Magu took the anti-corruption fight to uncharted levels that many people thought could never be attained (in this light was the award given)”.
