An armed robber who robbed a victim at gunpoint in Delta State, bolting with his N700,000 necklace, has been arrested.
The spokesman of the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday.
Edafe, while narrating the incident, explained that on June 25, 2023 at about 8:30pm, the Divisional Police Officer Sapele Division, Harrison Nwabuisi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, received a distress call from a victim that as he alighted from his car, a suspected armed robber attacked him with a gun, cut his gold chain, valued at N700,000, from his neck and took to his heels.
The DPO Sapele Division immediately alerted the patrol team deployed around that axis.
They swung into action and arrested the suspect, 25-year-old Lucky Sunday, of Otumara village, Jesse.
Exhibits recovered from the suspect were one cut-to-size double barrel locally made pistol, three live cartridges, one phone and the stolen gold chain.
