Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, has opened up on the country’s failure to qualify for the ongoing 2022 World Cup in Qatar, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Eagles chances of taking part at football’s showpiece event were dented after playing a 1-1 draw with archrivals Ghana at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja during the qualifiers early this year.
Balogun has now said black magic, commonly called ‘juju’, may have been used by Ghana in the first leg that ended 0-0.
“We did go to Ghana to play the first leg and it was a tough game. You know there was this whole fuss about them changing the stadium at the last minute on Tuesday when they have never lost and they say whether Juju may or may not have been involved also or whatever.
“It was tough for us. I can’t lie…It was really tough and we ended up playing [0-0],” Balogun told The Beautiful Game
