The Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja presided by Justice Abiola Sholadoye has arraigned and sentenced a 32-year-old street sweeper to life imprisonment for defiling a 14-year-old girl. The culprit was convicted on one count of defilement of the teenager, whom he claimed was his girlfriend.
The offense committed contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
According to the prosecution, the convict defiled the victim by having unconsenting sexual intercourse with her. The convict was arraigned and he pleaded guilty to the charges preferred against him.
The prosecution counsel, A.R. Abolade, stated that the convict committed the offense between June 2022 and July 2022 at No. 3 Church Street, Ajegunle, Ikorodu Road, Lagos.
