Speed Darlington’s ex-lawyer, Stanley Alieke explains why late singer Osinachi’s husband should be given a lesser sentence

An Abuja-based lawyer, Stan Alieke, has called for a lesser sentencing for Peter Nwachukwu, husband of late gospel singer, Osinachi.

A High court in Lagos today, April 28, sentenced Mr Nwachukwu to de@th by hanging over the de@th of his wife.

This comes 3 years after Osinachi Nwachukwu passed away due to injuries sustained from domestic violence.

The lawyer explained that death penalty ought to be abolished, and culprits should be given life imprisonment instead.

He noted that the kids had already lost their mother, and it would be unfair for them to also lose their father.

The lawyer maintained that regardless of what he had done, he still remains the father of his children.

His words read …

“In as much as I’m a strong advocate for the guilty not to go unpunished; this singer Osinachi case should be a reason why de@th sentence should be abolished. For the sake of their kids, they already lost their mom, it will be brutal for the kids for their dad to be k!lled too. I know some of you will argue that the kids are better off as orphans than to have a kila dad, but I believe that the kids will beg to differ. The man should be sentenced to life imprisonment so the kids could visit him in jail whenever they miss him. He’s still their father, let him not d!e too.”
