Today, the people of the East made a unanimous decision to sit at home to press for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from the DSS dungeon.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is the IPOB leader demanding a referendum for the people of the East. Recall that the East in 1967-70 fought a civil war with Nigeria, where more than 3.5 million Biafrans were brutally killed. Hunger was made a weapon of war, leading to the death of more than 2 million children. Till this very day, Easterners have suffered marginalization at the hands of the Nigerian government.
In collaboration with the Kenya Police, the Nigerian government abducted Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a British citizen and the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and rendered him to Nigeria. A crime in the eyes of the world.
Nigeria government have refused to present Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in court on 26th July 2021, saying that there is no available vehicle to transport the IPOB leader to court. Sensing a cover-up, IPOB DOS issued an every Monday sit at home order. An order that recorded 100% adherence on 9th August in entire Eastern Nigeria.
This other was also suspended after DOS informed the people that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has ordered the suspension of the sit at home through his lawyer.
The people, out of love for their leader, decided to sit at home willingly. This act of the people has shown that no other leader is recognized in the East except Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Right before the eyes of the governors and senators from the East, the people have decided to honour Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Throughout the history of the Igbo people, they have never closed their shops for any leader except Odumegwu Ojukwu and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
It is now certain that the Governors and Senators in Igbo land are nothing in the people’s eyes. Only the Nigerian government recognize them as leaders. When leaders lose the respect of their people, they are no more leaders. It is a matter of time before the people will ultimately dethrone them all.
