George Rodger was a prolific British photo-journalist and war correspondent, who, after being traumatized by photographing piles of bodies in the German concentration camp at Bergen-Belsen in 1945 at the end of WWII, switched his attention to Africa and the Middle East, where over the next 30 years, he would produce many now iconic photographs often featured in National Geographic and other magazines of the time.
