Justice Margaret Igbetar, a former president of the Customary Court of Appeal in Makurdi, Benue State, was murdered by gunmen.
Her son reportedly found her remains at her home on Wantor Kwange Street, along the School of Medicine at Benue State University, on Thursday evening.
According to a family member, the body had already begun to decay when it was discovered in the woman’s home.
The source added that the murder was reported to the “E” Division Police station in Makurdi as soon as the woman’s body was found.
“Her corpse seems to be decomposing at the time the body was found, suggesting, she must have been killed before Thursday,” the source revealed.
The police are yet to make any official statement on her death at the time of filing this report.
