The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released a memo on Sunday evening to douse fears and tensions arising from several quarters across southern Nigeria.
INEC explained that the result viewing portal is down due to technical hitches, but assured Nigerians that the uploaded results are well secured.
Nigerians have been accusing the electoral umpire of failing to prepare for the elections, where there were many complaints about electoral materials and logistics on election day.
Other complaints stem from poorly trained electoral officers, among which are individuals who are not familiar with the BVAS machine.
The commission ended its memo by taking full responsibility for any consequences or inconveniences that any shortcomings have caused any candidate, political party, or their supporters.
