Nurse Justina Obioma Ejelonu (1989-2014) contracted Ebola on her first day at work at First Consultants Medical Centre, Lagos, on July 21, 2014, after she had attended to Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian man who brought the disease to Nigeria.
Ejelonu was two-month pregnant but the disease made her had a miscarriage. Due to lack of care, the dead foetus began to rotten in her womb which worsened her health before she eventually succumbed to death on August 14, 2014. She was only 25.
