Nigerians have turned their backs on Aminu Adamu, a student of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, who is in detention for commenting on the weight of Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari.
The sudden turn against Aminu comes after an old tweet where he supported the killing of Deborah Samuel resurfaced online.
Recall that on 12th May 2022, Deborah Samuel, a second-year Christian college student, was k!lled by a mob of Muslim students in Sokoto over alleged blasphemy: an incident that caused public outrage in Christian communities.
It has now come to the fore that Aminu had supported Deborah’s lynching in a tweet that warned people not to sympathize with the latter’s family and also not to put on a shirt demanding justice for her.
Sharing a screenshot of Aminu’s tweet (in Hausa), @Dtwo interpreted thus: “This is the translation of his caption “Anyone that wears this shirt in Bauchi, we will deal with them”.
Hmmm, should I say he deserve the treatment Aisha Buhari served him? Anyone that supported evil will also have a taste of it.”
Currently, Nigerians have thrown their weight behind Aisha Buhari for assaulting and detaining Aminu even though the latter reportedly committed no offense.
Some describe Aminu’s predicament as karma.

@David Hundeyin, an investigation journalist wrote: “I earnestly apologise for retweeting the appeal to free this fellow. May he remain inside that cell for as long as Deborah’s family is denied justice, plus some extra time for accrued interest. Allah ya kara masa nauyin kasa.”
@Victor Israel: “So Aminu supported the murder of Deborah? Laughed at Deborah’s last minute cry for help. Cheered on Deborah’s killers while they added more fuel and tyres. Aisha Buhari, on behalf of every Nigerian we ask you to carry on! You’ve been chosen by karma to serve Aminu his cold juice!”
@MeneAdaobi: “Next time. I’ll wait till all investigations are carried out. Before I go go dey support Murderer in disguise. Karma was doing due diligence and we didn’t know. Karma should fire down.”
@Obiora: “People that can curse crisis just because of mere insult or maybe fake rumors they heard about Christians…. Is a pity though but I feel let’s just go back to regional government and at least manage our resources and determine our future!!”
@AjidaCruz: “Imagine seeing a friend being murdered by OUR own friends in Kaduna as a kid. These were people you play, laugh and share food with. I don’t fight their battle. I stay and observe from a distance. They can switch up on you. The worst is, they don’t feel remorse after.”
@Miss Pearls: “I apologize too! When I saw this teeet earlier today, I regretted ever going after the First Lady. He deserves every treatment he got and more!”
@CPA: “A young man who celebrated the k!lling of poor innocent Deborah is arrested by a First Lady whose husband has plunged Nigeria into unimaginable penury. The first Lady tried to kick at him but fractured her fat legs. Karma must be best in killing two birds with one stone.”
