Shuaibu Umar Bashir, a soldier in the Nigerian Air Force, was taken hostage by bandits on Birnin Gwari Road in Niger State.
This information was provided by a family friend of the soldier who revealed it to renowned investigative journalist, David Hundeyin.
According to a family member, the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N10 million from the soldier.
The family of the kidnapped soldier has also contacted the military about this development but has not received a response.
