A Nigerian lady has taken to her Twitter page to lament about her chances of being issued a visa to a particular country.
According to the lady, whose name is Moe, her agent told her that to get a business visa to a country she wants to go to, she must bear in mind that Nigerian passport holders have less than a 5% chance of success. A risky way of spending a nonrefundable $3,500.
She revealed that she called the agent to confirm if he meant “50%”, but he cleared her doubts and told her again. “No, 5%”.
Other Nigerians took to the thread to share their experiences in the hands of immigration officers. They also explained that the treatment they got is a result of what they had in their possession: a Nigerian passport.
“When I got into India, everyone got down, took their bags and were leaving the airport, I was singled out and searched with machine”, another netizen, Adamma wrote.
Other Nigerians who stumbled on the thread heaped blame on the Nigerian leadership, and predicted worse treatment from more countries with the possible emergence of the next president. If care is not taken.
