A Nigerian medical doctor, Lara Joseph has criticized pastors who she thinks manipulate their members into dropping funds into their coffers in exchange for prayers.
She made this known in a Twitter post where she revealed that she narrated how her pastor friend would ring her up urging her to pay tithes to him so that he could pray for her.
A request she refused to heed until he got tired and stopped calling her.
“I had a pastor friend who always ask me for money. Even as a non member of his church, we cannot have a telephone conversation without asking for money.
“He would ring me up and say to me;
“As my friend you’re supposed to take care of me. Sow a monthly seed and let me be praying for you. Medical doctors are not poor. You don’t have to be my church member to pay your tithes”
“When he realized he was talking to a brick wall, the phone calls automatically stopped.
“What Judas did to Jesus Christ is nothing compared to what these church pastors are doing to their members”, she wrote.
