Monaco defeated Racing Lens 3-0 at home on Saturday, moving them into first place in Ligue 1.
With four games played, Monaco has accumulated 10 points, two more than Olympique de Marseille in second place after their 1-1 draw at Nantes on Friday and three more than third-place Stade Brest following their 0-0 draw with Stade Rennais earlier on Saturday.
The first goal was scored by Wilfried Singo in the 24th minute, while the second came from Alexandre Golovin 12 minutes later as he expertly finished off a counterattack.
Monaco and Chile defender, Guillermo Maripan scored the third goal in the 59th minute by capitalizing on a mistake by Lens centre back, Kevin Danso.
Ligue 1’s finest defence, Lens finished second last year with only 29 goals allowed, but they are yet to win a game this year. They are in last place with one point after four games after shipping 10 goals in those games.
