Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has officially endorsed Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, as his preferred choice for the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
In his New Year statement released by his spokesman, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo referred to Obi as his mentee and stated that he has an advantage in the upcoming election on February 25, 2023.
Obasanjo also emphasized Obi’s character, experience, and understanding, as well as his ability to bring discipline and vitality to the role.
Meanwhile APC Presidential Campaign Council said Obasanjo’s support for Peter Obi worthless.
Also minister of State, Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo SAN has described the New Year day endorsement of Labour Party LP Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi by former President Olusegun Obasanjo as a bad commentary on the chances of the Presidential Candidate of Nigeria’s main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
