A Nigerian man Wislon Uwadiegwu who has been accused of murdering his wife, Ogochukuku Anene, over bread has revealed what really happened.
According to reports, the 14-year-old first son had stated that the father killed the mother because of her pressure for him to buy bread for the family, which he declined because there was no funds.
According to the son, the mother had used her own money purchase a loaf of bread for the children, which when the father saw ate entirely.
However, when the mother questioned him why he had eaten all the bread, he began to beat her, resulting in her death.
While in an interview, Uwadiegwu revealed that there was certainly a bread related disagreement with his wife, but that was not what resulted into her death.
According to him, he truly shattered a glass of mirror that injured his wife and son who had joined his mother in insulting him, however he apologized for his actions later by paying for the bread and some other items his wife had demanded that he could not afford.
He stated, “My wife then began to verbally
harass me, calling me all sorts of names. I became enraged and shattered a mirror, injuring my wife’s hand. Because he joined his mother in insulting me, I hit my son. “I only beat my wife once, and it’s been a very long time. I was in the village when I received a call that my wife was ill; I returned home and rushed her to the hospital, where she eventually died.
