Concerning the size of Lagos, its economic prosperity, and the status of other states, a concerned lawyer asked a question that has been given different answers by different Nigerians.
The lawyer and Twitter user, Egi_Nupe asked: “Lagos state despite being the small state is attracting all kinds of investment opportunities, creating millions of jobs for people of different class and background. I wonder what other states are useful for”.
This post attracted comments from Nigerians who seem to know why, and others who have blames to throw around.
Some users cited the former status of Lagos state as Nigeria’s capital from 1914-1991, as the block of this economic development and cultural diversity.
Other users found it easier to throw the blame on the bordering Ogun state, citing that Ogun has refused to leverage its land advantage and proximity to the economic capital of Nigeria to develop and attract investors.
What do you think the other states are doing, and what are they supposed to be doing?
