Fear has intensified in Ezimo community, Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State—home to Deputy Governor Ifeanyi Ossai—after armed k+dnappers launched vi%lent att@cks over the weekend, sh%%ting several women and abd¥cting a number of residents in separate incidents.
The violence, which unfolded on Saturday and Sunday, also spilled over into the nearby community of Obollo-Eke, where g¥nmen ambushed guests returning from a wedding and took them captive.
According to reports, the Saturday att@ck in Ezimo occurred close to a military checkpoint on the Ikem–Obollo-Afor federal road. Despite the presence of security personnel nearby, witnesses said the k+dnappers operated for hours without resistance, f+ring at moving vehicles, seizing victims, and escaping through bush routes leading toward the Benue border.
