The leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has released a statement, saying that they have no intentions of meddling in Nigeria’s political matters or using violence to stop activities.
In a statement signed by IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, it reads: “IPOB has constantly made it public that we have no interest in and cannot legitimize the aberration they call election in Nigeria.”

“IPOB is not interested and will never involve ourselves in any Nigeria fraudulent pre-election or post-election issues. Our job is to open the eyes of the blinds by the gospel of truth which our leader has delivered already”, it continued.
In response to the message from the leader of a breakaway IPOB faction, the statement said:
“Whoever that is sponsoring any group or gang tagging them IPOB is on his/her own. For those who are hard of hearing, IPOB is one indivisible family under one central command and leadership”.
The leader of the breakaway IPOB group, Mazi Simon Ekpa has been circulating online saying that elections won’t hold in the Southeastern region, causing a need for the IPOB leadership to reaffirm their commitment to the actualization of the Biafran nation and nothing more.
