The lawyer who once dressed as a traditionalist to court, Barr Malcolm Omirhobo, has aired his views on why he thinks people from the Southeast region of Nigeria troop to the former capital of the country, Lagos State.
He stressed that the migration to Lagos state is a result of the federal government not building airports and seaspots in the southeastern part of Nigeria.
“Igbos overcrowding Lagos because Federal Government deliberately refused to develop their seaports and airports It has nothing to do with Obi refusal to develop Anambra”, Barr Omirhobo wrote on Sunday.
There have been silent calls for the Igbos (Majorly southeastern) to leave Lagos state, due to political clashes between the Igbos and the indigenes of Lagos state. It has gotten to a high level on the internet in 2023, due to political differences between the major contenders, APC’s Bola Tinubu and Labour Party’s Peter Obi who hail from Lagos state and the Southeastern part of Nigeria, respectively.
