A Twitter user, Abaga Elvis, has taken to his Twitter handle to explain why Nigerians have been experiencing high pump prices at fuel stations during the festive season.
The netizen, who spoke with the authority of a fuel station owner explained that he used to buy a full trailer for fuel for 7.5m in 2021, but he can only afford to buy just a compartment in a trailer now.
“So just to get this right, most of u think that every petrol station is inflating their fuel price right now!? Let me tell you something, as at two years ago I used to buy a trailer of fuel at 7.5mil buh right now that price is double the amount and still rising”, Elvis wrote on his Twitter handle on Friday.

“In fact as of now, I can’t even buy one trailer full anymore as the price and risk is too much. I just buy one compartment, at almost 10mil. Last week I bought at 320 a litre and sold at 350. Everyone around me is selling at 500 and I’m still at 480 despite buying at 450 early”, he continued.
Nigerians were shocked at the revelation, as they had wondered why fuel stations have been selling petrol to the public at different prices, ranging from N280 to N500.
