Israel Adesanya, the current UFC middleweight Champion and Sean Strickland do not get along. At all. He was chosen to meet Adesanya at UFC 293 next week after Dricus Du Plessis withdrew due in large part to the hostility between them.
Strickland dislikes Adesanya mainly because he wears nail paint, enjoys anime, and is, in his opinion, generally unreliable.
Adesanya, on the other hand, seizes every chance to irritate Strickland. He recently declared that he will compete against the American while painting his nails.
The Kiwi also discussed how challenging a rival Strickland will be in an interview.
Israel Adesanya was asked about the difficulty of Sean Strickland in an interview. ‘Tarzan’ won’t be difficult to beat, according to Adesanya.
After his harrowing defeats to Pereira, he believed Strickland wouldn’t present as much of a problem. He does, however, note that he cannot afford to make errors.
“Difficulty? Nah, I don’t think it’s that difficult. But again this is this is where you don’t underestimate someone, and also, you don’t overestimate someone”, Adesanya began.
“I don’t think it’s that difficult I’m not going to put him on a pedestal like he’s God I never did that with Pereira and after he beat me three times, I was just like I can beat this guy, I know I can beat this guy I don’t fear any man so. This guy is not on that level, and I know I can beat him he’s not that difficult. I cannot make any mistakes in this fight at all,” he said.
On September 10, Adesanya and Strickland will square off in Sydney Olympic Park’s Qudos Bank Arena. Adesanya will defend his title in the match between the two for the middleweight title.
